Lung fibrosis is a change in the lung tissue. Connective tissue is increasingly formed between the alveoli and the surrounding blood vessels. The lungs hardens and scars (fibrosis). This reduces the elasticity of the lungs and consequently the volume of the lungs, which increasingly impedes breathing.
