Polyclonal antibodies

Polyclonal antibodies are antibodies that are obtained from the immunization of mammals or birds. After exposure to a foreign substance, usually a protein, the animal forms antibodies against this substance. In contrast to monoclonal antibodies, these consist of different sequences. The antibodies can be used for therapeutic treatment of the sick, for diagnostic purposes or for prevention.
